# Ableton Live MCP for Codex

The author built an MCP server so Codex can control Ableton Live, including running Python inside Live.

Result: Codex built a full EDM track and a piano duet from scratch in minutes in Ableton, shown in two demo videos with the prompts listed.

## How it was set up

Codex CLI with a custom Ableton Live MCP server, an Agent Audio Tap Max for Live device, and Ableton's Object model. Tested on Live Suite 12.3.8, macOS.

## Worth knowing

Only tested on macOS with Live 12.3.8. The MCP edits the set directly and could corrupt it, so back up first.
