# Hands-free voice for Claude Code

The author built a local speech-to-text and text-to-speech stack with a custom MCP so Claude Code can be driven by voice through AirPods.

Result: The author debugged a custom WhatsApp integration hands-free while brushing their teeth, using the voice stack running locally on an M4 Pro.

## How it was set up

Claude Code with Opus 4.5, Parakeet v3 TDT for speech-to-text, Pocket TTS for speech, a custom MCP, AirPods stem click capture, and AirPlay to a TV.

## Worth knowing

Took an afternoon of custom work, including hacking around to capture the AirPods stem click.
