# PDF form filling skill

Claude Code fills out PDF forms from supplied data, including batch runs, then the author packaged the workflow as a reusable PDF filler skill.

Result: A W-9 was filled and verified from plain-text data, and three batch W-9s were produced in about thirty seconds without clicking any fields.

## How it was set up

Claude Code run in a folder holding the blank PDF. Files reach a remote machine via Syncthing, SCP, or VS Code Remote. A custom PDF filler skill file stores the workflow.

## Worth knowing

Flat or scanned PDFs have no form fields, so Claude must overlay text by pixel coordinates, which takes slow back-and-forth. Ask for the fillable version.

## Prompt

```text
Read [form.pdf] and list all form fields. Fill it with this information: [field values]. Save it as [output.pdf], then read it back and confirm every field is filled correctly.
```
