# Portfolio optimization plan from brokerage CSVs

Claude Code parsed the author's brokerage CSVs and notes, then built a phased portfolio optimization plan with tax analysis and fund swaps.

Result: Over several sessions it produced a phased plan with tax impact analysis, fund swaps, and before-and-after allocation grids, comparable to an advisor's plan.

## How it was set up

Claude Code (Opus 4.6) in a terminal pointed at a data folder. Inputs were brokerage CSVs, a typed notes file, a goal prompt, and a CLAUDE.md memory file.

## Worth knowing

Needed several sessions of back-and-forth, and a long hand-written goal prompt covering constraints, preferences, and strawman allocations.
