# Reviving a 1991 assembly game

Claude Code CLI with Sonnet helped the author recompile their 1991 DOS assembly code using UASM and run it in DOSBox.

Result: All the author's old utilities, such as picture converters and sprite extractors, now compile and run in DOSBox. The main game does not compile yet.

## How it was set up

Claude Code CLI with Sonnet 4.6, the UASM assembler (MASM-compatible), and DOSBox for running the old DOS programs.

## Worth knowing

The main game still does not compile. The author expects a few more hours of work.

## Prompt

```text
Here is my old assembly project from [year]. Find where the bug could be in [file or routine], and tell me what stops it from compiling with [assembler].
```

## Evidence note

Author's own account in an HN comment; no repo or demo linked
