Numbers·Partial·Claude Code
Robotic arm designed with Claude Code
Claude Code wrote the FreeCAD Python geometry for a 5-DOF servo arm, which later gained voice and camera control.
The author designed, printed, and assembled a working four-servo arm in about 30 hours with almost no CAD experience, then added voice and vision control.
Overview
How it was set up
Claude Code writes a single FreeCAD Python macro; MG996R servos, an ESP32, local Whisper speech-to-text, OpenCV webcam capture, and the Claude Vision API return JSON actions.
Worth knowing
No gripper yet, no feedback loop, and several print and fit fixes were needed: taped servos, a glued lid, and a reprinted turntable.
