# Self-hosted agentic software factory

The author built a sandboxed home server stack where Hermes with Codex takes one prompt and runs the whole software lifecycle, from repo to deployment.

Result: From one prompt it created a repo, wrote the app and tests, got CI green, provisioned Postgres and deployed behind HTTPS with no further messages.

## How it was set up

Hermes (Codex inference) on an isolated i7 box with Coolify, Forgejo and runners, self-hosted Firecrawl, Pi-hole, Tailscale, Telegram, Porkbun DNS-01 and Let's Encrypt certs.

## Worth knowing

Inference, Tailscale, Telegram, DNS and ACME still leave the box. Setup is not a full how-to and needs a £20 Codex subscription.

## Evidence note

Blog post with demo video link and setup repos
