# Self-hosted home server setup

Claude Code, installed on a Beelink mini PC over SSH, set up Docker, Caddy, and a set of self-hosted services at home.

Result: The author runs 14 containers including Vaultwarden, Immich, Plex, and Readeck, with daily USB and weekly S3 Glacier backups costing about twenty cents per month.

## How it was set up

Ubuntu Server 22.04 on a Beelink Mini N150, Tailscale for private access, SSH in, Claude Code installed on the server itself, services in Docker containers behind Caddy.

## Worth knowing

Aimed at terminal-comfortable users. The author first misstated the hardware price, which is $379 plus a few hundred dollars for 8TB of SSD.

## Prompt

```text
On this Linux server, set up Docker and a Compose file for [service], put it behind Caddy with automatic TLS, persist its data in [path], keep the image updated, and restart it on boot.
```
