# Self-hosted Matrix agent assistant

The author had Kimi set up a local Matrix server and write a small custom agent loop with sandboxed tools.

Result: A working personal agent the author reaches by Matrix from phone, home web app, or CLI agents.

## How it was set up

Kimi and GLM5 run the agents. Tools run under bubblewrap sandboxing. A self-hosted Matrix server with federation off, behind WireGuard, plus identity, soul, and memory files, a heartbeat, and reminders.

## Worth knowing

Bubblewrap is not enough for untrusted data, so a VM is planned. Agents have web access, so leaks are possible.
