Three agents build multiplayer Counter Strike
The Instant team gave Codex, Claude Opus 4.5 and Gemini 3 Pro the same prompts to build a 3D multiplayer Counter Strike clone.
All three produced a playable multiplayer game with a map list and saved rooms; Opus won on visuals, Gemini on backend, Codex landed in between.
Overview
How it was set up
Each model ran in its provider's CLI on the top-tier plan: Codex 5.1 codex-max (medium), Claude Opus 4.5, Gemini 3 Pro. Three.js frontend, Instant presence, topics and database for multiplayer.
Worth knowing
Errors had to be pasted back to the models, and Claude got stuck on duplicate useEffect runs until the authors read the code themselves.
A prompt to start from
Build a browser-based version of [game] using three.js. Keep it local first. Use a first-person view with a crosshair, enemies with HP that respawn when killed, and simple polygon shapes.Written by Agentic Feats from the source. Not the author's exact prompt.
