# WordPress blog to MDX

Claude Code, run as a terminal agent, pulled every post from the author's WordPress REST API and converted them to local MDX files.

Result: 367 posts and 5 pages were migrated to MDX in one afternoon, about 4 hours, versus an estimated 3-5 days by hand.

## How it was set up

Claude Code in the terminal with a high-level goal. Next.js on Vercel, local MDX files in a year-based folder structure, FlexSearch for search.

## Worth knowing

The author set direction and reviewed the work. Broken image tags in old posts stalled the build once.

## Prompt

```text
Extract all posts from my WordPress REST API, convert them to MDX with proper frontmatter, and save them into a year-based folder structure under [content directory].
```

## Evidence note

Author states counts and time; live blog and all-posts page exist
