Self-hosted agentic software factory
The author built a sandboxed home server stack where Hermes with Codex takes one prompt and runs the whole software lifecycle, from repo to deployment.
From one prompt it created a repo, wrote the app and tests, got CI green, provisioned Postgres and deployed behind HTTPS with no further messages.
Overview
How it was set up
Hermes (Codex inference) on an isolated i7 box with Coolify, Forgejo and runners, self-hosted Firecrawl, Pi-hole, Tailscale, Telegram, Porkbun DNS-01 and Let's Encrypt certs.
Worth knowing
Inference, Tailscale, Telegram, DNS and ACME still leave the box. Setup is not a full how-to and needs a £20 Codex subscription.
A prompt to start from
The source does not show the prompt.
