SQLite-like engine in Rust
Claude, Codex, and Gemini workers, two of each, built a SQLite-style database engine in Rust by claiming tasks through git lock files.
About 19k lines of Rust across 154 commits in three days. The engine passes 64 SQLLogicTest queries and 282 AI-written unit tests.
Overview
How it was set up
One Claude bootstrap run made docs, crate skeleton, and test script. Six looping workers pulled main, claimed a task, tested against sqlite3 as oracle, and pushed. A Gemini coalescer removed duplication.
Worth knowing
A supported SQL subset only: no subqueries, CASE, or EXISTS, and no concurrency. 54.5% of commits were lock coordination, and the coalescer ran only once.
